About

A concerned horse owner with little time, trying to keep up with the research that matters.

We are concerned horse owners with little time, trying to keep up with the research that affects our horses.

That is the whole concept. We started this newsletter because we needed it ourselves and could not find it.

The peer-reviewed equine literature is large, paywalled, and badly translated by the time it reaches most owners. Most of what does reach owners has been filtered through marketing first. We did not want to make decisions about our horses based on what advertisers had paid to put in front of us.

So we read the studies. Each week we read what landed in the equine literature, throw out the press-release rehashes, and write up what's left in plain English. We use AI to help us cut through the noise. It reads at a pace humans cannot match. The verdicts and the editorial lines are ours.

If a study is good, we will tell you. If it is flimsy, we will tell you that too. If we change our minds when better evidence shows up, we will mark the date and change it.

Nothing here is advertised. We do not take money from supplement companies, tack brands, vet equipment makers, or pharma. The newsletter is paid for by subscribers, eventually.

Free weekly. Paid tier later for the deeper guides.
